As Eric tells it, Finding Core is a family first and that speaks to how the band works day to day. I've had the pleasure to see the band first hand on a couple of occasions and it always surprises me to see how easy and effortless it appears on stage, when I know full well the level of professionalism that goes in to each show and everything else the band does. That is all fine and good in itself, but what about the music? Finding Core is a rock band, and a very good one at that. Over the past 5+ years the music shows a real growth, be it the more melodic Shirley or the aptly named Freakin Out. Every track shows the same dedication and every song is on the album for a reason. If there is any justice in the Canadian music scene, and I'd like to think there is, Finding Core's Indie days are drawing to a close and soon enough, Indie bands will be opening for them. Trevor Thompson 95.1/100.7FM I have been promoting shows within Chatham-Kent over the last 4 years at multiple venues, in which time I have repeatedly hired the services of Finding Core. "Finding Core delivers exactly what they aim to produce, power rock with a
unique sound. This is a high energy band that helps to bridge the span from
the old time rocker to the energetic youth."
I have worked with many Indie bands from 2-3 hours around London such as Scratching Post, Monster Voodoo Machine, Kittie, the list just continues. As far back as 1997 when Indypalooza was first born, I"ve been searching for the greatest Indie bands, music and attitudes. If I had to sum the band Finding Core into 1 word the word would simply be "Amazing" "Very deserving, proud of you all....definately set the ruler for everyone to take note that relentless hard work always pay's off and certainly remove the word IMPOSSIBLE when it comes to following your dreams. I just wanted to send ya a quick e-mail to say congrats for everything that's going on in the Finding Core camp. London Music Award Nominations, Rock Stock & now Indie Music Week invite in T.O. & those are just a few…& all of which are no small potatoes man! I even saw a pic of a Finding Core fan tattoo…that's wild! FC needs to get signed. Enough is Enough! I just want you to know, that if I were a UFC fighter I would have Finding Core playing as I walked towards the octagon. And that aint no bull*$#@ ...Ryan Clifford Finding Core Rock Out In Silence http://www.myspace.com/findingcore A band with a lot of great stories to tell, all in the form of exquisitely crafted power rock songs. It's a rarity to find a band like that these days, isn't it? Enter Finding Core. The combination of vocalist Todd Lenover, PRS-endorsed guitarist Eric Broadbent, bassist J.Z. Taine, and now former drummer Gary Gehl proves priceless in the Chatham outfit's debut, Silence, a collection of songs so beautifully organized and perfected, even your elderly, gray-maned grandmother will want to hit the floor for them. These guys have a lot of experience under their guitar straps and cymbals, having played on the same bill of popular names like Default, Seether, Ian Thornley, Anthrax and High Holy Days, and they're only just beginning a long road of massive, chart-topping success. And this album proves it. Take the very first track, "Only You". You've already got hooks, beats, rhythms, licks and even a few exotic ornaments like digitally-twined vocals and speedy drumming to keep the pace active and revved. "So Deep" offers another spectrum of genres with a classic electric-pinched acoustic opening, a robust bass, subtle vocality, and a radio-friendly roughness that sets it apart from the rest. "Freakin' Out" is the stuff made with headbangers in mind. The interludes of commanding guitars and intricate riffs akin to Metallica speak for themselves; the chorus of brutal drumming evens up the rhythm where the digitized vox lacks. All of these elements combine for a tune that will truly make you freak out. A Seether influence creeps through on "The Ballad of April", as Lenover croons "Baby, you're all I know" with orchestral adornments soothing the already delicate mood. The ironically titled fifth track, "Silence", however, is a complete turn-around with an ascending strength that adds an unexpected uniqueness. Lenover's fast-talking amplifies the varying pitches, while the appropriately subtle licks keep it smooth and flowing. "Sick and Tired" tugs deeply at your heart strings with anguish-drenched guitar melodies and lyrics like "Daddy's never really proud of me", while 'Shirley', an immaculate dedicatorial to Broadbent's departed mother, dabbles in a bit of country with sharp, romantic acoustics, subtle strength in Lenover's vocality, and even a little child's voice opening the tune. A fresh pop vibe is implanted into "In The Sun", a solid number jump-started by a jumpy, jazzy opening and solidified by consistent, defiant licks. As "Touch" instructs, "give in and let it touch you", 'it' being the Default influence of this ninth track, structured by industrial gothic elements and beautifully meshed instruments. If you haven't been put under the band's spell after all this, "Fly" should be the accepted invitation into their "circle", with an alluring, dark ambience that comes off as a bit stalker-ish, but is just catchy and headbanging enough to overlook that detail. But you certainly will not want to overlook this band. It is about time to find your core, don't you agree? And no, that is not an innuendo. "Finding core has a truly fresh and unique sound, with layers of emotion. We have been extremely fortunate to feature their work in our national program "Old Autos Television" on the CHUM television network. Finding Core is Canadian talent at its best, and best of all you can tell these guys love what they do." Rick Walker - A Channel /CHUM Television Network FINDING CORE Curt Evans To Whom It May Concern, Sincerely, Brandon Friesen To whom it may concern, Nicholas Nolan FireWire Strings whole heartedly welcomes the endorsement of " Finding Core ", a rock band based out of Chatham , Ontario . This is local talent at its best. You have only to listen to "Silence" and "Fly" amongst the clouds to know where this band is going. What a gem!! Alex Douma, FireWire Strings To Whom It May Concern, The station has been behind this band since 2002- when they first leapt onto the local music scene by entering into our "Band Spotlight" Contest. Although they displayed absolute professionalism throughout the contest, this band tends to let their music speak on their behalf. And speak, it most certainly did. They are a fine young talent and given the opportunity they deserve, could rise to be one of the most refreshing sounds this country has heard in quite some time. On a more personal note, I've enjoyed several performances by Finding Core and the emotion they pour into their shows is evident. They literally feed off of the energy supplied by their crowds (which have been in the hundreds at each show I've attended). In my opinion, it would be silly not to allow these gentlemen pursue a career in something they thrive at. They've received endorsement deals and have opened for some very respectable names in the business of "new rock". Finding Core are a group of talented professionals, dedicated to marketing the best product they possibly can at whatever the cost and quite frankly- I would go to bat for them any day of the week. To whom it may concern, My name is Scott Gilbert and I am an audio and video technician for a video production company out of Port Huron, Michigan. We produce videos for missionary groups from around the world, promotional videos for multinational corporations as well as local healthcare organizations in addition to audio recording for local radio PSAs. I have attended approximately ten FINDING CORE performances across Ontario and I am always impressed with their stage show and with the way the band presents themselves to those in attendance. The music FINDING CORE performs is heavy rock performed with a lighthearted attitude, which sets them apart from most of the other bands in this genre. Their stage show is energetic and upbeat while still delivering a hard rock performance that rocks your socks off! Instead of appearing “angry” on stage, the members of the band truly have fun on stage and interact with the fans, which is something most music fans find fun and exciting. Lead guitarist Eric Broadbent even takes the occasional wireless walk around the club during the performance, which further adds to the band/audience interaction. Additionally, I am always impressed with the way the band uses the club’s resources as well as their instruments and the stage to promote the FINDING CORE name and logo. You see the fliers and signage on the walls outside of the clubs, the CDs are for sale at the door, the “Fanbase” entry forms at every table (which includes the band’s website address) and the FINDING CORE logo on the stage banner, bass drums and lead guitar. I may not remember the other acts that have played with them, but I can not forget the name FINDING CORE. FINDING CORE’s music delivers a solid punch both in the studio as well as on stage and would easily fit into any rock radio format. Regards, Scott Gilbert Want to submit a review? Click Here

As host of the Rock Indie Show Many bands have come through the studio over the years, and Finding Core has to be one of my favorite groups to not only listen too, but interview as well. Rarely does a band offer what Eric, J.Z. Albert, and Adam offer on a daily basis.
My name is Justin Oliphant, better known as Danger Boy- Afternoon/Drive host and morning show personality on 95.1-fm "The Rock" in Chatham/Windsor, Ontario , Canada . I am writing this letter on behalf of a group of talented individuals- Finding Core.
