Chatham-Kent Receives Musical Props, Kudos and Credit
Finding Core shows World the talent in their Hometown

Finding Core steps off the train back home in Chatham-Kent at approximately 7:00 PM on September 29, 2007 with heads held high, and the internal feeling of being in the center a ticker-tape parade.  While this was obviously a mirage to them, the feeling of pride for their community made this more of a reality than that of a dream.

The band returned home after competing in The Great Canadian Band Challenge in Toronto at the Hard Rock Café this past weekend. While climbing their way from over 1500 entrants, Finding Core rose from the basement’s bottom, to the prestigious Top 5 placing, and earned their way to show the world their talent.

The performance on the evening of September 27th, was filmed and broadcast worldwide via webcast and recorded for a reality television show to air sometime in the near future. With Press in abundance, including the addition and support of A Channel TV following Finding Core throughout their every move, the band showed the world that their hometown of Chatham is a breeding ground of musical talent.

After performing 2 songs from their debut album Silence, the band received critiques, comments and suggestions from music industry veteran judges such as Andy Kim, Vito Rezza and Vivian Barclay. Shortly thereafter, bands were eliminated in groups of two, in dramatic fashion, seen commonly on reality television shows. Sadly, Finding Core was one of several that were eliminated.  The band did however receive near full house cheering, some incredible feedback from the judges and respect from their peers.

From being transported to Toronto at no expense to the band, put up in one Canada’s most luxurious hotels ( The Grand) to Limo arrival at their showcase, Finding Core was treated in the way that only the rich and famous have come to accept as their daily routines.

Finding Core would like to sincerely thank many people that made this happen, including our friends and family back home, our online supporters and fans, the My30seconds.com staff, the Hard Rock Café staff, The Grand Hotel Toronto, Rick Walker/A Channel Television, all bands involved in the challenge (Arya, A New Honour, Luke Sneyd, The Apollo Effect & Savanah.

A huge congratulations to The Apollo Effect for their well deserved win!

Finding Core plans on taking no time off after this momentous weekend of hype and hysteria! Big things are on the horizon for this band, and rest is simply not an option.
